About The Pastor...
Zach Chamberlain holds a Bachelor of Arts from Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, Wash. And a Master of Divinity Degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass. He was born and raised on a farm in Northeastern Pa and has worked in construction since he was a teenager. He enjoys woodworking, playing basketball, soccer, and table tennis. He loves to read as well as preach and teach God’s Word. Most recently he has served as pulpit supply for numerous churches in Hunlock Creek and surrounding areas. He is thankful and blessed to have been called by Welsh Bethel Baptist to be their Pastor. Zach’s wife Deborah (who goes by Jolene) is also from this area and has a wide variety of musical talents as well as a deep love for teaching children. Zach, Jolene and their 2 month old son, Haddon, are eager to serve God and the people of Welsh Bethel Baptist as they minister the Gospel in an area in need of God’s love and light.
The mission of Welsh Bethel Baptist Church is "to be and to make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ." A follower, or disciple of Jesus Christ is one who prayerfully and intentionally seeks to know and obey Him through daily worship, fellowship, study, and ministry. In addition to subscribing to the character traits as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4, the successful candidate for the position must be capable of superior performance in the supervision and execution of our primary ministries including:
Our worship service is in the traditional order, incorporating expository preaching and teaching and including the great hymns of the Christian faith.
Sunday School :
Welsh Bethel Baptist Church offers Sunday School classes for all ages – beginning at age 3. We offer age appropriate lessons and activities to optimize learning and build Christian friendships from an early age.
Vacation Bible School:
(VBS) is held for five days every June. VBS is open to the community for ages 3 through 12. You do not have to be a member of the church or of the Baptist faith to participate.
